Wikipedia: Index to everything

The Wikipedia website has a plain design that mimics the simplicity of Google. The website can be viewed in many languages and that is apparent on the index page of the website.

Functionality

This is a collaborative encyclopedia website that contains millions of materials. These are kid-friendly entries mostly and very well researched. There are at times certain kid inappropriate ones. Often there are links which can take you to other websites. The 12 volumes of hard bound encyclopedia are collected into one URL and there is a plethora of information on history, arts, geography, and other comic strips, TV shows, toys and kid friendly topics. There are also adult pages and graphic images which is not appropriate for kids.
There could be malicious contributors for topics like celebrities, music, games, films and TV shows.

Technical

It is a search engine for appropriate information on any topic. The graphics are on the right side. The write up has ample information that is provided in the middle. There are lots of links that offer information to other sites. The pages take very less time to download with a good broadband connection. The links work well and offer associated content that helps a lot in any research.

On this website you can add your own content and upload files if you want to add to the resources on this website. Wikipedia searches malicious content so be careful as to what you would be writing and uploading for this website.

Conclusion

The website which provides a wide gamete of information to students and researchers and even for everyday use is a hot favorite among all internet users who know about it.

You can view all the links on the left and visit them as per their usability. Wikipedia is a wonderfully resourceful website in line with a few other sites but this website is unmatched in technical as well as design aspects.
