Underwriters Laboratories and Earth Day network collaboratesPosted on 00:23, April 26th, 2010 by Editor
When two big organizations like UL and EDN come together, the cause has to be genuine. An honest approach in providing people an authentic way of living so that they may understand the ill effects of pollution. The three top issues that have been kept in mind is informing people about family safety, maintaining healthily environments and definitely the importance of safe play. As Kathleen Rogers, president of the Earth Day Network said, “We are excited about working with UL as they apply their experience and expertise to developing new, relevant and reliable standards for environmental sustainability,”
EDN or the Earth Day Network is a non profit making environmental organization which has been trying to provide a better environmental for people to live in UL on the other hand has been an organization that has been working since the last 114 years. They are a company that specializes in product safety testing and other process of certification. These two companies have come together in providing a better and a safer environment for people to live in. This will be the 40th year celebration for EDN and they have decided that UL would be their “Official Safety, Sustainability and Standards” partner. The program is a yearlong program and it would be launched in the earth week itself. One of the major attractions of this program is that various families would be taken to the UL’s Safe and Healthy Environment pavilion which is located at the Eco Village on the National Mall in Washington, DC where they would be able to see the different ways of testing, checking and certification that each product needs to go through to make it environment friendly. A great cause by two great organizations. |
