Taj Group of Hotels - Ancient Hotel Chains of India

Taj Group of Hotels are one of the most ancient hotel chains of India. Jamshedji Nusserwanji Tata has opened Taj’s first hotel in 1903. Taj Hotels Resorts and Palaces comprises of 57 hotels in 40 locations across India with an additional 18 international locations.

Tajhotels.com is the website of the Taj groups of hotel. My first impression of the website was not very good. The images and the color combination of the site are not very attractive. Background of the home page is white and the border is also light in color. The font and color of the headings and tabs are also kept very light.

Reservations and hotel finder tabs are given bottom right most corner of the page. It will take few moments to locate these tabs for the new users. However the pictures showing as flash in the home page is very attractive.  Once you are in a reservation tab you can book your hotel room online. There are no photos available for the room but you will get other details of the room facilities and amenities. However, you will get virtual tours of the pool, terrace, garden etc of the hotel. Website is little slow; even it takes comparatively longer period to load the virtual tour photos.

Hotel directory is the best thing they have provided. It becomes little easier to look at various hotels available in different cities across India and world. It contains the link of the website of every Taj’s group hotel in this page. Click on the link and you will get detailed information including map and the hotel’s distance from the nearest railway station or airport. In Food & Wine tab you will get information about all Taj’s Hotel’s restaurants.

Websites contains whole lot of information about the company, news, investor relations, and press release.
