Revlon is an American based cosmetics brand. It was founded in the year 1932 by ‘Joseph and Charles Revson’. It has its set up in New York. It is a brand that deals with skin care cosmetics and fragrances.
Revlon was started with a new kind of nail polish; they produced a new assortment of shades in nail polish. Revlon had become very famous since the time it was started. They started selling its products in drug stores and departmental stores. In 1940 Revlon had a complete range of manicure kits and started with a new range of lipsticks. By the end of the 1940, Revlon was among the top five brands in the field of cosmetics. The world’s first super model posed for a Revlon advertisement. Revlon has had many famous models featuring in many new advertisements. Later all models were dropped and actresses were taken in. In the year 1950, Revlon launched red nail polish and red lipstick that was called ‘Where’s the fire?’ and ‘fire and ice’ which were in high demand.

General electric is a multinational technology company based in America. It was founded in the year 1878 by Thomas Edison. It has its set up in Fairfield Connecticut. General electric is the world’s tenth biggest technology company.
In 1896, General Electric was one of the original 12 companies listed on the newly-formed Dow Jones Industrial Average and still remains after 112 years (it is the only one of the original companies remaining on the Dow— though it has not continuous In 1911 the National Electric Lamp Association (NELA) was absorbed into General Electric’s existing lighting business. GE then established its lighting division headquarters at Nela Park in East Cleveland, Ohio. Nela Park was the world’s first industrial park, and was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1975, and is still the headquarters for GE’s lighting business.

Philips is an electronic brand from Dutch. It is among the largest electronic companies. It was founded in the year 1891 in Netherlands by Gerard Philips. It has its set up in Amsterdam. Philips has a wide range of products such as consumers’ electronics, lightning, domestic appliances, and medical systems. Philips was formed in many sections. Philips first productions were electric technical equipment and light bulbs. Its foremost factory has now become a museum that is dedicated to light sculpture. In the year 1920, Philips started manufacturing products such as vacuum tubes commonly known as ‘valves’. Later after a few years an electric razor was produced.
Philips had become very famous after launching the Stirling engine. Later Philips launched many more new products that attracted a lot of consumers. They launched the ‘audio cassette tape’, stenographers, portable radio, cassettes were introduced for answering machines, mass storage machine for personal computers, later mini and micro cassettes were introduced. In 1972, video recorder was launched. There was huge competition between Sony and Philips.
